The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially announced the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admission into Class VI for the academic year 2026–27. This entrance exam offers a golden opportunity for meritorious students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds to study at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), which are fully funded by the Government of India.

Test Details

The JNVST is a two-hour objective-type test divided into three sections:

Eligibility Criteria

• District: Must apply from the district where the JNV is located.
• Age Limit: Born between 1 May 2014 and 31 July 2016 (inclusive).
• Current Study: Must be studying in Class V during 2025–26 in a government or recognized school in the same district.
• Previous Admission: Must have been promoted to Class V before 31 July 2024.
• Attempt Limit: Only one attempt allowed; repeat candidates are not eligible.
