Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: 18 to 25 years as on closing date of application.  Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, as per Govt. norms.
• Educational Qualification:
  • Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Must have two years of work experience in respective trade OR
  • One-year certificate course from Industrial Training Institute (ITI) with one year experience OR
  • Two-year diploma from ITI in the relevant trade.

Selection Process

The BSF Constable (Tradesman) recruitment involves the following stages:

1. Written Test (CBT)

• Mode: OMR-based
• Type: Objective (MCQ)
• Duration: 2 hours
• Total Marks: 100
• Subjects:
  • General Awareness & Knowledge
  • Elementary Mathematics
  • Analytical Aptitude
  • Basic English/Hindi
• Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted per wrong answer

2. Physical Standards Test (PST)

• Measurement of height, chest (for males), and weight
• Relaxations for reserved categories

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

• Includes:
  • Running
  • Long Jump
  • High Jump
• Standards vary by gender and category

4. Trade Test

• Practical skill test in the applied trade
• Assesses hands-on proficiency

5. Document Verification

• Verification of educational, caste, domicile, and trade certificates

6. Medical Examination

• Includes vision and physical fitness standards
