Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree after a 3-year or 4-year Bachelor’s degree with:
- 55% marks (or equivalent grade)
- 75% marks if applying directly after a 4-year Bachelor’s degree
- 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS candidates
- Candidates with equivalent qualifications or valid JRF-GATE score (for B.E./B.Tech holders) may also apply
- Interdisciplinary research allowed under special conditions
Exam Pattern
Phase I: Written Test
- Single paper of 100 marks
- Duration: 3 hours (10:30 AM to 01:30 PM)
- Weightage: 70%
- Qualifying marks: 50% (45% for reserved categories)
Phase II: Viva-Voce
- Conducted by respective departments
- Weightage: 30%
