Eligibility Criteria of POWERGRID Field Engineer & Field Supervisor

Educational Qualification

POWERGRID is hiring for five contractual roles across India, including the North Eastern Region (NER) such as Assam. The posts are:

1. Field Engineer (Electrical) – 532 vacancies
   Requires a full-time B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Electrical or related disciplines with at least 55% marks. Candidates must have a minimum of one year post-qualification experience in areas like Design, Engineering, Construction, Testing & Commissioning in sectors such as Rural Electrification, Distribution Management Systems, Sub-Transmission, Transmission Lines, and Sub-Stations.
2. Field Engineer (Civil) – 198 vacancies
   Requires a full-time B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Civil Engineering with 55% marks and similar experience as above in civil infrastructure projects.
3. Field Supervisor (Electrical) – 535 vacancies
   Requires a full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 55% marks. Higher qualifications like B.Tech or M.Tech are not allowed. Candidates should have one year of experience in Construction, Testing & Commissioning, or Electrical works in the same sectors.
4. Field Supervisor (Civil) – 193 vacancies
   Requires a full-time Diploma in Civil Engineering with 55% marks. Again, higher qualifications are disallowed. One year of relevant experience in civil works is mandatory.
5. Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication) – 85 vacancies
   Requires a full-time Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, or IT with 55% marks. Candidates must have one year of experience in Telecom System design, engineering, or operation and maintenance.

Pay Structure of POWERGRID Field Engineer & Field Supervisor

• Field Engineers receive a basic pay of ₹30,000 per month, plus Industrial DA, HRA, and perks up to 35% of basic pay. The total annual CTC is approximately ₹8.9 lakhs.
• Field Supervisors receive a basic pay of ₹23,000 per month, with similar allowances and perks, totaling an annual CTC of around ₹6.8 lakhs.

Age Limit

• Maximum 29 years as of 17.09.2025
• Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India norms:
  • OBC (NCL): +3 years
  • SC/ST: +5 years
  • PwBD: 10-15 years depending on category
