The Assam ST Scholarship Scheme is a centrally sponsored initiative implemented by the Directorate of Tribal Affairs (Plain), Assam. This program provides financial support to eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from Assam for studies from Class IX through post-graduation, via Pre‑Matric and Post‑Matric scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be a permanent resident and belong to an ST community of Assam.
For both Pre-Matric (Classes IX–X) and Post-Matric (Class XI to PG): Family income must not exceed ₹2.50 lakh per annum.
Applicant must study in a recognized government or government-aided institution within India.
Must hold an Aadhaar‑linked, active bank account and not be a recipient of any other scholarship.
Benefits
Pre‑Matric Scholarship (Classes IX–X): Maintenance allowance and book grants, with higher support for hostellers.
Post‑Matric Scholarship (Class XI and above): Covers tuition fees and maintenance for degree, PG, and professional courses, depending on level and category.

Upload required documents: Aadhaar/enrolment ID, ST caste certificate, family income certificate, bonafide certificate, and bank passbook.
Submit and save or print your confirmation slip.
Conditions & Renewal
Renewable each year provided the student passes the current academic year with no more than one back paper.
Switching courses or institutions without authorization will lead to cancellation.
Scholarships are not applicable for distance learning, diploma courses, or management quota admissions.
